Shenzhen Baoan International Airport, located in Shenzhen Baoan District, officially opened in 1991. Bao'an Airport is a modern airport with sea, land and air transport. It is one of the top 100 airports in the world and one of the top five airports in China.
T3 Dirty Building was officially put into operation in 2013. The outdoor high pole lights in the new district have a total of 100 poles. There are 43 old districts, and each lighting pole has a lighting distribution rejection. Lighting Distribution is rejected by electrical equipment such as power distribution equipment, lighting control module meters, and management mainframes. These electronic equipments have extremely low pressure resistance, but these equipments are outdoors, once subjected to lightning strikes or lightning electromagnetic pulses. These devices are extremely fragile. Damage will cause the high pole light to be de-energized. At the same time, the cost of these equipments is relatively high. A direct lightning strike may cause hundreds of thousands or even millions of direct economic losses. The serious delay caused by power outages will lead to extremely poor social impact.
The project has been in operation for 2 years. Lightning strikes frequently cause damage to the lighting distribution system, and the original lightning protection equipment is difficult to meet the lightning protection requirements of the airport. Through multiple site surveys, design and construction, Kiloamp technology designed lightning protection retrofits for the specific climatic conditions of the airport to minimize lightning damage.
